Pain-Free Resumes & Cover Letters

Because resume-writing doesn’t have to be excruciating. A self-paced, 1.5 hour course.

For most people, writing resumes and cover letters is incredibly painful – why is that?

Maybe it’s the fact that you have to represent yourself with a piece of paper and compete against dozens (or hundreds) of other candidates.

This is harder – but not impossible – if you have a ton of soft skills or you’ve had a non-linear career path.

Or maybe it’s because the actual process of writing a resume is so excruciating. Oh the procrastination resumes can induce…

If you’ve been reading my stuff for a while, you probably know that I love to highlight that resumes are not the most effective strategy to get a job or switch careers…

The most effective way is to focus on getting referred or connected to a job, which is what I focus on in my 1:1 career coaching and my 5-week online group program, Guidance Counselling for Adults.

However, resumes can be incredibly effective when used strategically and when they are results-focused.

That’s why I created the Pain-Free Resumes & Cover Letters course.

What’s covered in the course?
*How to write a results-based resume and cover letter to get your application to stand out and get to the top of the pile
*How to use empathy to communicate your experience
*How much time to dedicate to resumes (great news – it’s way less than you think)
*How resumes work in the new job market
*One of the most important parts of a resume that is almost always overlooked
*Key parts of a chronological AND functional resumes
*How to use resumes to help you get referred or connected to a job
*How to choose and prepare your references
*Common mistakes to avoid

What’s included?
*An in-depth, 1.5 hour video workshop
*A workbook for you to work through (you can write your resume and cover letter as you watch the video)
*Chronological AND functional resume templates to get you started with resume-writing

What does “self-paced” mean?

This course is totally self-paced which means you get to work through it at your own pace, in the order that suits you best.
